Homemade farmhouse bread with sunflower seeds – the perfect picnic companion

A picnic in the open air is only really complete with fresh, hearty farmhouse bread. Especially if it has been lovingly baked by yourself. Today we present a simple and tasty recipe for homemade farmer’s bread with sunflower seeds – perfect for any outing.

Why bake it yourself?

Industrially processed bread often contains additives and few nutrients. The best way to ensure quality is to grind your own grain. With a Salzburg grain mill, fresh flour can be obtained directly before baking. This preserves all the valuable ingredients and the taste is incomparable.

The recipe: Salzburg farmhouse bread with sunflower seeds

Ingredients:

Preparation:

  1. Dissolve the yeast in the lukewarm water with the honey and leave to rest for 10 minutes.
  2. Mix the flour, salt and sunflower seeds in a bowl.
  3. Add the yeast mixture and knead everything into a smooth dough.
  4. Cover the dough and leave to rise in a warm place for about 1 hour.
  5. Knead the dough again briefly, shape into a loaf and place on a baking tray.
  6. Leave to rest for another 30 minutes, then bake at 200 °C (top/bottom heat) for approx. 40-45 minutes.
